Sex and the Married Couple.

Maggie and I were at a party yesterday, and Maggie was relaying a story to a friend (I was in another room) about how our older son once walked in on us "in the throes of passion." Her friend said "Well, at least you have throes of passion." The person standing next to her said "yeah, you shold be thankful." Mind you, these were fairly hot looking women. I mean, um, from a neighborhood-fantasy-perspective.

So what's up with that? What's normal for mid-late-thirty-something, together-for-over-a-decade couples?

Love to all. Even us, the dudes with near-nuclear levels of lust.

Married 12 years and to a man with a near nuclear level of lust (LOL). We have throes of passion. Not as often as he would like, but a few times a week at least.

When we were twentysomething and newly married, my wife was asking a friend of hers who was thirtysomething for some advice in the bedroom dept. Her friend answered that they used to be hot and bothered and couldn't get their hands off each other when they were newly married too, but then after ten years of marriage, they don't do it that often, nor that passionately. I was alarmed when I heard that and dread for the day to come when that happened to us, but now, after over twenty years of marriage, I am still fearing that one day it might happen to us! :)

Been with the hubby for 17 years. We go through dry spells, which usually are brought on by a sick kid, stress, lack of time and a disctinct fear of waking the sick, clingy child with loud expressions of nuclear passion.

When we went to Europe. Alone. For three weeks. We call that time "Summer Fuckfest".

I can't wait till the kids leave home.
