Appears to be a hard disk failure. I have had similar problems with other Windows machines. First, applications start forgetting how to do things, then the Blue Screen of Death locks you out completely.

Hope you have a recent backup...

I *wish* it was a hardware failure. But it's just windows.

Memory dump. That's not hard drive failure.

Most likely it's bad Ram, or an application gone crazy.

which is why you couldn't pay me to make a windows machine my everyday computing choice...

my guess is that even if you had to run all your fancy schmancy apps in freaking OS 9.1 emulation mode you'd save time on a macbook.

Hey! Now that you can dual boot on a MacBook Pro, I think it's time to kick that Dell to the curb and splurge.

Windows will still suck, but at least it will be sucking on a Mac.
