Hezbollah holds 14 seats in the Lebanese parliament. That's all that matters to me.
If a U.S. Senator was openly a member of a terrorist organization, and the terrorist organzation started attacking, say, Canada, AND the U.S. Government didn't kick his ass out of the Senate and/or jail the fucker, I'd understand if Canada tried to kick our ass, anywhere it could.
If Hezbollah was operating inside Lebanon, but wasn't an official part of the government, I'd feel a little differently. But it is what it is.
Love to all. Even you, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini

Very true. The problem is, it depends how you define "terrorism" and how you label their activity. I am not trying to defend Hezbollah by any means, but I understand some people call them "freedom fighters" - something like what G. Washington and is troops were/are called... .
This is a very good point, my friend. I never really realized until today what that man is capable of. Ugh. Will it never end?
Following your simplistic analogy.
What if Canada acknowledging the weakness of the US, without provocation launches hit-and run attacks in Northern US.
And those 15 "terrorist" American senators are the only ones capable of standing up to the Canadian govt' military actions, by responding with fire, and seizing a couple of Mounties who had crossed over to Michigan to instill terror.
Now, would that justify Canada declaring all open war against the US, to retrieve those Mounties?
....
I wish things were so black and white, but they aren't.
....
And Dana, you definitely haven't see what the IDF women are capable of...
ITS,
I honestly don't understand how what you are saying relates to my simplistic analogy.
If Canada started attacking the US without provocation, that's war. Everything else you say afterwards just doesn't make sense.
Not being rude here, dude. I just don't get it.
Cheers.
Aside from the Michigan comment (don't fuck with Michigan! Our militia is still strong, thank you very much. Don't make us go McVeigh on you :P), I get what ITS says (for a change!). But I think I'll leave it to him to provide the translation.
Of course you don't get it, Rich. Because you don't want to get it, that is. This is one of the most sensitive matters on the world, and I understand where your loyalty stands. If Albania was to be invovled in the most outreagous conflict at fault, I would still support it. Having said all that I still think the original post is flawed because:
This is NOT a conflict between Canada and the US.
Hezbollah is NOT a terrorist organization. I could care less what the US dept. of State and the govt. of Isreal says on the matter.
And we'll never know whether those two Israeli soldiers were captured in Lebanese territory or otherwise.
Anyways, this is the last time I will comment on this issue. I don't expect to change anyone's point of view. Just throwing in my 2 cents...
ITS - That comment was totally not your style.
"Because you don't want to get it, that is?"
Since when have I ever refused to engage in a discussion with you? Would you prefer I pretend that I understood you?
Hezbollah is dedicated to wiping Israel off the planet. That pretty much says it all to me. They went into Israel, they are part of the Lebanese government, and they are directly supported by Iran and Syria.
Hezbollah isn't denying they went into Israel. Israel claims Hezbollah went into Israel, but you are saying we just don't know.
But dude, your saying "we don't know" doesn't mean we don't know.
Watch. I'll prove it:
"I'm six foot three and gorgeous."
Nope. Still 5'10 and average. Alas.
The Palestinians deserve a peaceful and stable homeland. Such as, say, the land they have, and a chunk of Jordan (the country that slaughtered thousands and thousands of palestinians a few decades ago). The Lebanese deserve a peaceful and stable homeland. And Israel deserves a peaceful and stable homeland.
New Jersey, we should get rid of.

Those evil Muslims:
"The Crusaders, however, broke the alliance and invaded Palestine about a year later. They captured Jaffa and Jerusalem in 1099, slaughtered many Jewish and Muslim defenders and forbade Jews to live in Jerusalem. "
"Muslim powers controlled the region until the early 1900's. The rulers allowed Christians and Jews to keep their religions. However, most of the local population gradually accepted Islam and the Arab-Islamic culture of their rulers. "
"The Turkish Sultan invited Jews fleeing the Spanish Catholic inquisition to settle in the Turkish empire, including several cities in Palestine."

Shqipo: I know I'll get in trouble for writing this, but...
What's your point?
I'm hoping you're not implying that I called Muslims evil.
History clearly proves that Islam was once the fairest and most tolerant of the Judeo-Christian religions.
The present clearly proves that many, many Muslims are fair and tolerant people.
So what? We're dealing with Hezbollah, not Muslims in General.
Thanks for the timeline link. Note how Palestine includes a huge area now called Jordan. Yet nobody is asking Jordan to give up land... even though Jordan is many times larger than Israel.
Somehow, by a bizarre miracle, ONLY ISRAEL HAS THE LAND THE PALESTINIANS WANT. How strange!
Maybe I'll post THAT little point as a separate article.
Hezbollah is to Lebanon what Hamas is to Palestine and both of them are brothers in arms.
We can fool the whole world.
But we cannot fool God.
False religion is the plague of humnakind. And political lies have left the Middle East in ruins.
God bless.
Nope, that was not my point :)
Just in case I've given you the wrong impression: I am completely against barbaric actions which affect innocent civil population - no matter who does it.

Shqipo: I seem to have a misunderstanding filter on, these days.
