...I'm giving up yelling. Seriously.
Today was a crazy day. I interviewed, like, 5 different tech guys for this open job we have. There's a particular kind of "I'm smarter than you, and will try to prove it, but not so much that you might actually learn something because sharing knowledge would be the death of me, and by the way my last boss was an idiot" kind of tech guy that makes me just want to scream. Fortunately, only of of the five qualified 100% in taht category.
For me, right now: Dead Sea Salts, a bath, and Wired Magazine.
Love to all. Even you, Mr. "I will not accept anything less than $120/hr."

$120/hr??!!
Holy crap I'm in the wrong business!
I'm giving up Lent.
I still have never figured out how the "I'm going to keep all my knowlege to myself" people succeed.
There are too many people who are paranoid of giving up their "nitch".
Why are there so many people like your "I know everything and I ain't telling you" guy in our field? I'm more than happy to tell people what I've discovered or figured out and I still have my job. The cool thing about technology is there's always something more to learn.
Agreed on all counts. Even more importantly: Nobody they're going to chat with wants to steal their job. And even if they did, if the tech dude was competent, there would be no reason for worry, anyway.
Good luck on giving up the yelling.
I should be right there with you.

I am also trying to give up yelling for Lent, so I wish you the very best of luck with that.
