I'm perfect!

According to the Doctor I met today, I meet "nearly every criteria" for ADHD. Yay, me! I get an "A" in Attention-Deficit Class! Woo hoo! She was concerned, though, that I might have a completely different kind of anxiety disorder, due to my nutjob father. So she started me on low-dose of Adderall about 15 minutes ago. If it felt like speed, I was supposed to quit immediately, and we'd discuss other options. But it doesn't.

Weird how a stimulant can make certain people calmer.

Love to all.

I think I may have ADHD. I also have general anxiety and the drugs I've tried so far leave a lot to be desired. Like being tired but hyper at the same time.

i had some SEVERE insomnia for a while, and the doctor gave me an ANTI-depressant because in low doses it had a side effect of drowsiness.

worked for 3-4 days then apparently my body pulled a Hans and Franz on it and decided to develop a tolerance.

My friend gave me some adderall to help with my move. It put me on auto-pilot, made me very calm, focused and productive, but it took away my 'spark,' empathy and sense of humor. I could see how taking it would help me in certain ways.... cleaning out my drawers on adderall took 20 minutes. Normally it would take 3 hours because of the tempations to read every peice of paper, card and indulge myself with trips down memory lane. On adderall, I only care about one thing... getting the job DONE. But the down side of it... for me... is not worth it.
I love your site, keep up the great work!!

Hey, thanks!

This is only my second day taking it, but I don't think my creative side is going to take a drug-induced hiatus.

I never realized how many people take this stuff recreationally, or to get work done... it's kind of scary, in away.

Do you think it's possible you lost your spark, etc., because you don't have the condition that requires Adderall as a medication?

From everything I read, and from what I've experienced in the last 48 hours, I'm like the poster child for Adult ADHD.

It's possible, however I feel like drugs have side effects no matter what our condition is. They will differ according to our individual chemistries of course. :-) I am pretty darn ADD though... I definately fit the category.

Oh, it turns out you were totally right. It took me about two weeks to adjust, with mood swings, irritability, etc.
