Because he wasn't only loud, but his phone's volume was turned up so high I could hear his wife clearly through my Sony Fontopia Noise Isolating headphones.

In second place was the jackass next to me playing a game on his Treo with the sound on, followed closely by the guy two rows up who repeatedly adjusted his ring volume. WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH THESE PEOPLE?

LMAO! And from the pic it looks like he had his phone a foot away from his ear! Arrgh! I feel your frustration, I hate those idiots! WTF? If you can't f... hear your wife on the other side, it will probably help if you first try to hold the phone next to your ear you dumb @#$%! Or probably he was one of those who heave heard how cell phones supposedly cause brain cancer and was trying to avoid that from happening to him.

I feel your pain. For me, public transport phone talkers (for the most part) are second in annoyance only to obnoxious teenagers who have their music so loud that the whole train/bus can hear it. What the hell? Headphones were invented so we didn't have to hear your crappy excuse for music! GAH!
