Hey.
If you could say the littlest prayer for me, I'd appreciate it. I just sent my parents an email (after reading it to my sponsor), basically saying that love them and miss them and that I would like bygones to be bygones, and to move on. I haven't spoken with them in four years.
I don't expect it to work. But I should try not to expect anything.
Love to all. Even you, whoever programmed the Emjay phone system.

Nope. Only lots of big prayers. I've read about some previous reactions. Try to stay centered that this is about you reaching out and not how they react. Peace, brother.
and rock on.
Good luck. And at least you made an effort to make amends.
I've been there. Not the program stuff, but the "it's been 18 years- maybe we could work it out" stuff.
What made it work for me was just that- expect nothing, and start with being friendly. I don't look at him so much as Dad but as Grandpa to my kids. After that, we are friends. He teaches me what he knows, I teach him what I know, and every now and again, we have a "WTF was that all about?" conversation.
Good for you. My biggest prayers are with you. If nothing else, you took a shot. "You miss every shot you don't take." (Saw it on the school gym door yesterday. Hallmark wisdom.)
Thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks.
Here's hoping that things turn out positive for you regardless of how your parents choose to respond.
My prayers are with you!
It shall be done.
God bless you.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family.
May it all work out for the best, regardless.
good thoughts and mighty prayers all headed your way. may you be at peace no matter what the response (or lack thereof) is.
Sending all the good thoughts and vibes your way. I have been there. You have already won the race by reaching out. You can't fail from here.
You're definitely in my prayers. I've been there and as Vinny said, remember to have no expectations. Try to put it in God's hands and find peace knowing you made the effort.
I hope it works out for you Rich. But as others have said, because you're in an enlightened mindset doesn't mean others are. I face that a lot.
i'm still having a hard time trying to understand how parents can be enemies with their kids - even if kids are way past their teen years.
