I guess I'm back, after all.

This is an excerpt from an IM session between me (in the interview room with a super-jittery candidate) and my Senior Salesperson, who was in the other room. We begin when the interviewee says "fuck." I'm on the right. (Click to enlarge.)

It's nice to know my employees think I'm cycling back up. Holy crap.

Love to all. Even you, the dude who made me rephrase, and rephrase, and rephrase.

I would totally work for you, but you can't afford me... and I have no idea what the f*ck you do, actually...

except for the killing part, it seems like your employees have your back ;-)

I've found that requests such as "please come stomp on my head" or "pummel me with something large and heavy" are sometimes received better than "please kill me"... Especially by those friends that are somewhat squeamish and.. well... big pansy asses...

You definitely sound like things are looking up.

But as Jen said, who says the f-word in an interview? I really think our culture has become waaaay too casual. But that's another topic.

Just glad you're back!

In defense of the candidate, context is everything.

Or not.

I'm wagging my finger at you for IMing while conducting an interview, even one in which the interviewee swears inappropriately and goes on and on so long that you want someone to kill you ;-).

Your employees obviously love you, which is a great testament to what a rocking boss and generally awesome person you are :)

Thats is funny!

F-word is only tolerated if the interviewer has set the precedent. ;-)

Yeah, well, I still think you suck

A REALLY good employee would have killed you, I think. Just as an act of mercy.

u know, i think ITS is right - why blame the interviewee alone??

The last time I asked an employee to kill me, she wrote:

"I can't, mom. You're better at cleaning up blood".

And yes, some of my employees call me mom.
